The Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act of 1938 was a turning point in the United States history in terms of the codifications of the safety of the food, drug and cosmetic products. Since then, the findings in science and technology have fundamentally revolutionized the safe production, processing packing and holding of food, drug, and cosmetics products. The goal of this institute is to provide training about the most current scientific and technical understanding of of how to manufacture, process, pack and hold safe foods, drugs and cosmetics. Among subjects covered are the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Omics (genomics, metagenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, allergenomics, lipidomic, microbiomics, other omics), Big Data, Sequencing, Cloud Computing, Biosensors and Chemosensors, Mobile Devices, Internet of Things (IOT), Nanotechnology to safety of the foods, drugs and cosmetics product.

According to FDA a drug is intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease. Is intended to affect the structure or any function of the body of man or other animals.

A biological product, as defined in section 351(i) of the Public Health Service Act, is a virus, therapeutic serum, toxin, antitoxin, vaccine, blood, blood component or derivative, allergenic product, protein (except any chemically synthesized polypeptide), or analogous product, or arsphenamine or derivative of arsphenamine (or any other trivalent organic
arsenic compound), applicable to the prevention, treatment, or cure of a disease or condition of human beings.

beautifying, promoting attractiveness, or altering the appearance.
